Replace Missing Teeth with Natural-Looking Implants
Dental implants are an effective method for permanently replacing missing or damaged teeth. Getting a dental implant means having a strong, natural-looking replacement to help preserve the structure of your mouth and the function of your bite.
Dental implants are designed to look and feel like natural teeth. With proper care and maintenance, they are built to last.
To place implants, we must first examine your gums and jawbone to make sure they are healthy enough to support the implant. Contact us to schedule an appointment to learn more and determine if dental implants are right for you.

What Is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is an artificial replacement for the root of a natural tooth, or the part that sits below the gumline and is embedded within the jawbone.
The implant is used together with a natural-looking crown or bridge to replace one or more teeth and restore function, health, and appearance.
Dental implants are different from traditional bridges and dentures because they don’t need to be attached to another tooth. They provide a secure option to attach crowns or bridges, which can help protect healthy surrounding teeth.

What to Expect When Getting a Dental Implant
Before you can receive a dental implant, you’ll first need an evaluation from your dentist, who will assess your teeth, gums, and jawbone. This initial assessment is crucial to determine whether you are a good candidate for implants.
Once your dentist has determined that you can receive the implant(s), the treatment process will follow this general flow. Some variations may occur depending on your unique situation.
- Placing the implant: During your appointment to place the implant, your dentist will prepare the area by removing any damaged tissue or bone. Then, they will place the implant.
- Post-procedure healing: Following the implant placement, your jawbone will grow around the dental implant in a process called osseointegration. This may take 4-6 months to fully strengthen and heal.
- Crown or bridge placement: After your implant has healed, we’ll take a digital scan of your teeth to design your crown or bridge. About 1–2 weeks later, your custom crown or bridge will be placed, completing your restoration.
- Caring for your dental implant: In the days following your procedure, you may experience some of the usual side effects associated with dental surgery, such as swelling, discomfort, bruising, or minor bleeding. Avoiding hard and sticky foods helps preserve the health of your crown and implant.
Types of Dental Implants
The type of dental implants you receive depends on how many teeth you are missing, from a single-tooth gap to a full arch of missing teeth.
During your consultation appointment, we’ll discuss which option best matches your oral health, bone structure, and long-term goals.
We’ll use a single-tooth implant when one tooth is missing. The implant post replaces the root of the tooth, and a custom crown is attached on top to restore a natural look to your smile.
This option functions like a natural tooth and doesn’t require support from surrounding teeth, helping preserve your overall oral health.
If you’re missing several teeth in a row, we may recommend an implant-supported bridge. Rather than placing an implant for each missing tooth, 2 or more implants can anchor a bridge, filling the gap efficiently while maintaining a secure and natural feel.
Using implants helps reduce strain on adjacent teeth compared to traditional bridges, especially for larger gaps.
A Permanent Solution for Missing Teeth
Dental implants can be an excellent solution to replace missing or damaged teeth due to injury, infection, or other issues. The implant provides a secure, solid base for a natural-looking crown, restoring your smile while preserving the health of your natural teeth.
If you think dental implants might be right for you, the first step is to speak with your dentist about your options. Contact us to schedule an appointment today.
